Positive Attitude : The Main Ingredient For Success

One of the most important skills that you can learn in life is how to have a positive attitude, about yourself, other people, the world, and what is possible for you. This is particularly important for all Entrepreneurs who are running their own business.
With the easy access to information today, particularly in this age of the Internet, you would think that more people would have a positive attitude. Unfortunately, this is not the case. A negative attitude is the model that many of us received from parents, siblings, relatives, teachers, coaches, and friends when we were growing up. Often their thinking and beliefs became our thinking and beliefs.
You know who the positive people are – it\’s evident by the way they carry themselves, the way they talk, and the way they respond to situations and people. They stand out from the crowd!
Where Does a Positive Attitude Come From?
A great attitude comes from inside of you. It starts with an awareness of your thoughts and feelings. What happens next is key: how you decide to process those thoughts and feelings and then either react or respond in a positive or a negative way to them. Do you react, or do you respond? Researchers tell us that we have about 60,000 thoughts per day. Unfortunately, most people have the same 60,000 thoughts over and over again each day! In other words, most people go through life with their minds on autopilot.
They find themselves going through the same routines over and over, day after day, reacting to whatever the most urgent situation is at the moment. They basically see the world through a negative lens, believing that they are victims of circumstance with no control over what happens to them. However, you have the power to choose whether or not you will respond or react to any situation or person.
Develop a Positive Attitude.
Your mind is like a fertile plot of ground, and your subconscious mind is ready to grow whatever seeds are planted into it. Our culture is dominated by negative attitudes. Often, negative seeds are thrown your way by friends, coworkers, the media, advertising, politics, and religion.
These kinds of seeds grow to be weeds. Weeds will grow without any cultivating or nourishing; in fact, they grow without any help at all! You must plant seeds for what you want to grow. Remember, your mind doesn\’t care what type of seed is planted in it. What kind of harvest would you like to have? Decide which seeds you want to grow and then cultivate them by positive affirmations or prayer and visualizations often every day.
Be patient and persistent. Remember, for most of us the weeds have been growing for many years; it takes time to create lasting change, but you can do it. The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the quality of your thoughts, and the quality of your thoughts starts with your attitude about yourself, other people, and life in general.
You must have powerful reasons for developing a positive attitude. Ask yourself the following questions:
o Why is a positive attitude important to me?
o How will a positive attitude assist me?
o Why should I invest in developing a positive attitude?
Developing a positive attitude for the wrong reason will not be powerful enough to sustain long lasting results. Exhibiting a positive attitude to gain acceptance or approval from other people is an example of the wrong motivation. Many of us have grown up with a \”performance-based acceptance\” belief. This belief is often given to us by influential people in our lives, such as parents, friends, teachers, coaches, etc.
You may have the mistaken belief that your worth comes from doing things – your accomplishments and your \”stuff\” – so you spend most of your life being motivated by the fear of rejection. This is an \”identity\” issue. Developing a positive attitude is an important step in understanding who you really are – believing that you are already worthy just because you are you.
You must do this for yourself. Some people might call you selfish, but this is just not true. You can only give to others what you have inside yourself. To be the best mother, father, husband, wife, or leader, you must become the best person that you can be. When you achieve a positive attitude for yourself, the rest of the important people in your life and the world will benefit.
With a positive attitude, you have the freedom to:
o Be happy
o Feel good
o See opportunities
o Learn from challenges
o Stop being a victim
o Start taking responsibility
o Be a role model
o Be a leader that people believe in
o Stop letting negative people and situations affect you
o Encourage others when they need support
o Walk your talk
o Treat others the way you want to be treated
o Look at the bright side of life
o Have a great day
o Never have a \”bad day\” for very long
o Believe in yourself
o Believe in others How to develop a Positive Attitude.
If you\’re tired of feeling sick and tired. If you\’re tired of feeling stressed,and sometimes depressed. If you find yourself wondering, \”Is there all there is to life? I didn\’t think it was supposed to be this way.\” If you believe there has to be something better for you in life, then here is the formula for you to start developing your Positive Attitude. Soon, you\’ll begin to add your own ideas to it!
o Decide that you want it. If you don\’t decide, it won\’t happen.
o Be persistent. Know that it will take time to create lasting change
. o Start your day and end your day with gratitude. Think of everything that you have to be grateful for
o Read books and listen to tapes and CD\’s that motivate, inspire, and teach you how to grow.
o Develop new relationships with happy, successful, like-minded people who support and encourage you.
o Be aware of your feelings. Feelings tell you whether your thoughts are positive or negative.
o Learn how to release negative feelings. The Sedona Method is one of the best \”releasing\” techniques that I have come across.
o Reduce or eliminate the amount of time you spend with negative people. If your spouse or your boss is one of those people, begin thinking of something positive about them and keep doing that consistently. (It may be difficult at first, but you can find something.)
o Stay focused. When negative people arrive and negative events happen, don\’t dwell on them. Look for the lessons that those people and situations are bringing to you, be grateful for them, and learn from them. You are on a mission. Don\’t let them distract you.
o Avoid violence. Violence is negative energy; it will affect your thoughts first and then your feelings. If you feel negative, you will only attract more negativity into your life.
o Create a positive environment, one that makes you feel good, gives you peace, and fosters your creativity.
o Tell yourself and others what can be done and what you will do.
o Be aware of your language – it is a direct reflection of your thoughts.
o Respond to everything positively. Stop and think before you speak. Because of old, established negative thought patterns, most people react instead of respond.
o Lead with a smile, and the words will follow, earn a smile from everyone that you talk to.
o Choose one positive message or affirmation each month. Memorize it by reading, listening, or watching it every day.
Once I made the decision to accept total responsibility for my life, I knew that I could choose my attitude and respond to whatever life brings each day, instead of reacting. As T. Harv Ecker says in his Best Selling book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, \”Do you play victor or victim? Are you a winner or a whiner? Do you live in the problem or the solution?\” Your perception is your reality, so take a look at what you are focusing on. Does who or what you are listening to, watching or reading, empower you or disempower you?
My purpose is to share this opportunity for freedom with you. If you weren\’t aware of these principles or have never studied them before, let this be a simple guide for creating positive results in your life. If you already understand these principles, but you\’ve either forgotten them or fallen back into old, negative habits and aren\’t applying them in your life, let this be a reminder that you can choose freedom again now.
You were created with a unique set of gifts and talents that can bring great joy to yourself and others. You already have everything that you require inside of you. I have given you you some ideas and tools to be able to achieve your own personal positive attitude but, as with all opportunities, you have a choice. Make it a great life – the world is waiting for you and what you have to offer! The only thing you have to do is decide if you are willing to go for it.
The only thing you have to do is DECIDE if you are willing to go for it!
